The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre (The SAFV Centre) and Emma House Domestic Violence Service (Emma House) have officially united, creating a stronger and sustainable future for women’s services in the South West.
In December last year, following robust consultation and due diligence, Emma House members voted unanimously in favour of the acquisition of Emma House by The SAFV Centre. Over the past ten months, the two organisations have worked closely to finalise the transition, with approval of the acquisition approved by our governing bodies, Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and Victoria Legal Aid.
Today marks the first official day of The SAFV Centre, locally known as Emma House, in the South West and highlights our commitment to clients, staff and the community to providing a long-term service, with robust governance, trauma-informed client services and cohesive leadership.
It is vital that women and children in the South West region continue to receive specialist family violence services and we are delighted that we will continue to support women and children for generations to come.
As one organisation, we will provide enhanced access and coordinated responses across the Barwon, South West and Wimmera for women and children impacted by family violence.
With the acquisition now complete, it is business as usual for our organisation. We are here and available to support women and children impacted by family violence in the South West.
