Emma House welcomes the release of the Federal Government’s National Plan Stakeholder Consultation Final Report.
We strongly support the findings and themes, which demonstrate a thorough stakeholder consultation process and point to specific, tangible outcomes to address the domestic violence crisis we are facing in Australia.
Emma House Chairperson, Gabrielle Toscan, reiterated the importance of acting on these findings to overhaul service delivery and support.
“Emma House strongly supports the Federal Government releasing the report and we reiterate the importance of prioritising the voices of victim/survivors, and the need to engage sector advocates and experts in the development of the 10-year plan”, Ms Toscan said.
“In particular, we are encouraged by the focus on regional, rural, and remote women, children, and families, with a call for increased access to services, better funding, and investment in research to develop a clear evidence base to properly understand the needs of women and families in these communities.”
